Review: NYX MATTE LIPSTICKS

Hello everyone! I'm gonna talk about the NYX Matte Lipsticks. I love matte lipsticks more than the glossy ones and the shimmery ones. I'm actually collecting matte lippies. I have the ones from Ever Bilena and now I'm collecting NYX matte lipstick because they're awesome and the shades are freakin' gorgeous. :)

NYX have 22 shades of matte lipsticks and I've already collected 6!

Why I love them?

They stay on for hours and they are really pigmented. If you want to see all the swatches, you can watch Judy of ItsJudyTime's video about it. She swatched all the shades and based on her, some of the shades are kinda chalky but some are very smooth and have good pigmentation. So far, I haven't encountered a chalky matte lipstick from the collection I have right now. Ooh! I don't know about you but I love the packaging, it's very nice. You can see the color from the transparent part in the middle which I think is very helpful because you don't have to check each bullets to see the colors and pick which one you want to use.

Cons about the NYX Matte Lipsticks:

It has a certain smell that might become a problem to some people who have problems with scents, or people who are sensitive when it comes to scents. Don't get me wrong, NYX matte lipsticks don't smell bad. It might just not work out for some.

Sexy NUDE

Hi everyone! If you think I'm talking about a sexy nude woman, then you're wrong. I'm referring to a nude makeup look. So, boys, you can leave the page now if you're not interested about the makeup at all. LOL!

It was just a random night and I wanted to try my new NYX round lipstick in Circe. I wanted to see what looks can I pull off using the said lipstick and I came up with this. I hope you'll like it. :)

LIPS

NYX Round Lipstick in Circe

HOW TO:

1. Apply foundation and concealer then set with powder.

2. Redefine eyebrows.

3. Prime the lids. Apply a light mustard color all over the lids.

4. Apply a light brown on the crease area using a wiper motion.

5. Apply a dark brown color on the outer crease. Focus on the outer v.

6. BLEND, BLEND, BLEND.

7. Highlight the inner corners of the eyes and the brow bone with a light beige color.

8. Apply a brown glitter liquid liner on the inner part of the upper lids (as close to the lash line as possible).

9. Apply a black liquid eye liner on the outer part of the upper lids, basically connecting it to the brown glitter eye liner. Create a wing to have the cat-eye look.

10. Apply the black liquid eye liner on the lower lash line connecting it to the wing you've created in the upper lash line.

11. Apply light shimmery brown on the inner half of lower lashline, connecting it to the black liquid eye liner.

12. Line your waterline using a black eye liner.
13. Curl your lashes and apply black mascara. False lashes are optional.

14. Apply an orange cream blush to the cheeks and blend outwards to have that natural glow.

15. Set the cream blush with a corally peach blush.

16. Contour your face.

17. Apply a very nude lipstick on your lips and you're done! :)

HAUL yeah baby! Part V (NYX HAUL)

Last Tuesday, August 16, an online store in FB had a one day sale for on hand NYX cosmetics. May I just say that that sale was insaaaaaneee! The rule for that 1-day sale was a "MINE" policy. What is a MINE policy? Well, you have to comment "mine" on the photo of a certain item that you like to get it. For example there are only 4 pieces available for that product, you have to be included in the first four to comment mine to get the item.

I thought it would be easy but boy, it was intense! You cannot imagine the pressure that I felt that night of the sale! What made it so hard is that the seller, Sam, didn't put the sale items in one album but she posted each photos of the items on her FB wall and you have to be quick to comment to get what you want! Hahaha it was insane! I'm sure all of the ladies who participated in that sale felt the same way. We were all complaining about how painful our hands and fingers already by pressing the key F5 to refresh the page to be updated on the newly posted item and by trying to type the word MINE quickly just to get the item. But it was fun and I could tell that we were all enjoying. Some gained friends and acquaintances (including me). :)

You have no idea how many items I didn't get! It was harder than I thought! So, if by any chance you'll participate in this kind of crazy sale, don't be fooled! And move fast because you might think that you're the first one to comment but really, you're the 10th person already even though only 5 seconds had passed since the photo was posted! Hahaha! That sale was EVIL, I'm telling you! EVIL!

So, anyway, even though I didn't get some of the items that I wanted, (like the rouge cream blush in orange!) at least I did get 4! :-)

NYX matte lipstick in Perfect red (PhP210), NYX rouge cream blush in Red Cheeks (PhP210), and two slim lip pencils (PhP75 each), Orange and Plum.

I received the items 2 days after payment.

You can see in the photos below that the packaging was really secured.

It was nice because the items were stored in a pretty, small gift bag. :) 

The items were wrapped securely with bubble wraps.

If you're wondering why there are 5 items here, well, the seller, Sam, was so nice to give us a freebie! Yey! That's a lip balm, the orange one. So, thank you very much for this, Sam!

Review: Battle of the White Eye Pencils (NYX, Majolica Majorca, Elite Paris)

This is a review of the three white eye pencils that I currently have. Elite Paris Intensity Long Lasting Eye Pencil, Majolica Majorca Jeweling Pencil, and the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.

Let me start with the one that I first purchased.

ELITE PARIS LONG LASTING EYE PENCIL

The Elite Paris long lasting pencil is very sheer when applied especially on the waterline. I bought this liner for around Php275? I forgot the exact amount but yes, it's 200 plus something pesos. I don't like this that much. The color is very sheer and a little metallic. I can't even use it as a highlighter for the brow bone because it is very hard to smudge and blend. It dries too fast You have to swipe it a few times to make it appear more pigmented. I like that it's long lasting because it really is. I'll rate this 3 out of 5 seals of approval. :)

MAJOLICA MAJORCA JEWELING PENCIL wt909

The Majolica Majorca jeweling pencil is the most expensive out of these three eye pencils. I forgot the exact amount but it ranges from PhP 425 to PhP 450. Personally, I think it's expensive for it's size because it's just small, it's not even the regular size of an eye pencil. It's pigmented and it has little sparkling silver glitters which make the eyes more bright. What I don't like about this is that it's too sheer when applied on the waterline but it is better than the Elite Paris long lasting pencil. I'll give this 3.5 out of 5 seals of approval and I don't think I'm going to purchase this again because it's just expensive for me! Hahaha! :)

This is the comparison of the Elite Paris long lasting pencil and the Majolica Majorca Jeweling Pencil.

Both were swiped a few times to achieve this look.

You can obviously see that Majolica Majorca's is more pigmented than Elite Paris'.

NYX JUMBO EYE PENCIL in MILK

I was surprised when I swatched the NYX JEP milk because it's too creamy and I love it. I didn't have a hard time applying it on my waterline because it glides smoothly leaving enough products to achieve the look that you want. Just use a light hand when applying this because it's so creamy that you might get more product than desired, otherwise you'll end up looking like a cartoonized alien. Hahaha! :)) I got this for PhP 145 from Kiko's Angels online store in FB.

See how white it looks on my waterline? I'll give this 4.5 out of 5 seals of approval. Why not 5? Because it doesn't stay on for long hours.

You can easily point out which one is the most pigmented and that is the NYX JEP in milk. Elite Paris long lasting Pencil looks great to use if you don't want a dramatic look and if you just want a natural bright eyes. It just frustrates me because I wish it would be as easy as swatching it on the back of my hands unlike when I apply it on my waterline. Majolica Majorca jeweling pencil is just OK for me. I just find it funny that Majolica Majorca is the most expensive when in fact it is the smallest among the three pencils and the NYX JEP is the biggest one but it is the cheapest of the three. :D

See? The Majolica Majorca eye pencil is a no match from the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil.
